Now a Stress free trip after a stressful financial year is a must for all of us in the working class. I believe most of you reading agree with me.
It was a hectic financial year for all of us and we are working on running away from this routine and have a relaxing time. The women also deserved a break after spending so much time with us and bearing our tantrums. And this being the last holiday period for my Niece before she gets busy with studying for her Crucial Final year at school.
We plan a trip to the South of India with an Initial itinerary of Mysore, Ooty and Kodaikanal which my brother in law got a Good deal through his contacts with a local tour operator named Indus Holidays. Which seemed to be a very good deal at a package of Rs. 22000/- per pax including flights. Everyone is excited including me and I start discussing with friends and they suggest that while I am visiting the region why don't I include Coorg in the itinerary as it is supposed to be a very beautiful place and the same is also suggested by the Tour Operator for the same reasons. My sister and me force brother in law to go for it, though he initially resisted as it would involve a lot of traveling and would be more tiring as we could be continuously on the go but he later gives in.
Now as the times nearing everyone's excited as it was a 1st flight journey for my Wife, Daughter, Niece and one cousin who is our travel buddy whenever we travel out of city. My daughter who is just 2 and a Half years old is the most excited and she is telling it to all her friends and the people she knows that she is going to fly in an Airplane.
The D-day arrives and its the 2nd of April. We reach the airport and brother-in-law has planned to take us to the Lounge before we fly to enhance our experience of visiting an airport and flying. We go to the Airport lounge and have our breakfast as it was a morning flight. We finish our breakfast and get ready for our flight. We get a warm welcome from the Crew at Spicejet and we settle on our seats. Flight reaches Bangalore before time and we come out of the Bangalore Airport where our Chauffeur Mr. Prathish is waiting with a Placard named Fayyaz (brother-in-law). We reach him and he escorts us to the Vehicle which is a 12 seat Force Traveller.
We travel for 5 hours and reach out Hotel in Mysore which is Viceroy Conforts at 3:30 while exploring various sites like the Tipu Palace, his summer palace and the Srirangapatna city on the way. The hotel is a little difficult to reach to as it is in the same compound as a Banquet hall with a very small depiction on a 2x4 mtr sign on the entrance. We reach there and are mis-informed by the receptionist that the lunch is still available if we reach on time. We rush to our rooms, get fresh and reach the dining area just to realise to our horror that there is a Private party going on and are indecently looked upon as the gate crashers. I seek a waiters help who is serving there for helping us through because of the Language barrier. The waiter initially suggests the hosts that the Hotel guests are allowed to have lunch but later the General Manager Mr. Khan intervenes rudely that we cannot have lunch here without the courtesy of politely advising us that this is a private party and we cannot barge in. We inform him that it was the receptionist that advised us to have Lunch in the Dining area and we are no party poopers. Though angry with the rude behavior of the General Manager, we leave the Dining area. Everybody is hungry and we decide to get food from outside. Brother-in-law and me go out on the food hunt on the unknown territory and we find a small local restaurant called Cafe Chavadi just around the corner and we order for a couple of stuffs out of which all are spicy and tasty, especially the Dal fry which has that tasty tadka of local spices and the local red chilly. We fill our stomachs and go out for visiting the Zoo where we see a lot of animals and have fun. We buy a couple of sandalwood stuffs from a good shop that Prathish takes us to and get back to the hotel to relax and take rest before we begin the next day journey which had to cover Mysore Palace and other small sites while reaching Coorg in the evening. We try a couple of other dishes from this small Cafe Chavadi for dinner which are equally tasty and then go back to sleep.
The next day we wake up early and are packed to leave for the sites and reach Coorg which described by all whom I mentioned to be the best place in the whole itirenary. We see Mysore Palace and on the way see the Tibetan Golden Temple which both turn out to be good sites to visit while you are there. We have lunch at this restaurant on the way which has decent food especially the Non-Veg, where-in the manager tries to cross sell the local home-made chocolates and also Sandalwood products but we manage to save ourselves from the embarrassment of rejecting his polite gesture and procure some chocolates. We leave from there to visit the Elephant Safari which is beautiful but due to the dry season, the water has reduced to minuscule level in the brook, which we needed to cross on foot, but being tired we reject the idea and want to reach the Hotel for some rest.
After such stressful travel and bearing the heat we ignore everything else and change to rush for getting into the pool to chill out. Now let me describe the Pool Area. It's at the end of the Property with a Jungle just next to it. It has 2 rectangle pools, The main pool which is 5 and a half feet deep and a Kids pool with 2 and a half feet depth. There are public toilets at the kids pool side end and our Villa's at the main poolside. On the Length side there is the entrance to the pool and from the greenery and the other side is a Tall fountain through which the water is flowing into the swimming pool. I change first and rush to the pool. I jump into the pool and notice that the water is weirdly cold in a hot weather but I ignore thinking may be it is because of the fountain. My Niece joins in and she also notices the same thing but she ignores it too. We go to the kids pool and notice the water is normally warm. Now all the ladies along with my daughter go to the kids pool initially. Initially my daughter is afraid of water and is not wanting to get too much into the pool. She just likes to get a little wet and is in the water only till the torso. While playing my daughter decides to want to go to the main Pool and runs crazily towards it. I am on the other side of the pool and I call her out trying t stop her but she is ignorant and still running. I try to swim towards her and I cannot go ahead, my brother-in-law being a very good swimmer cannot go towards her and the I shout her name loudly now that's when she stops just at the edge of the pool. We rush towards her and hold her from jumping and slowly take her in the water for playing with us. Things seem to be OK now, we all breathe a sigh of relief. Brother-in-law, Niece and me are playing in the big pool with my daughter and suddenly all the females decide to come to the main pool, which sounded normal initially as the females did not wanted to get fully drenched and were just till their foot deep in the Kids pool as well as the main pool.
I am not a great swimmer but I like underwater swimming and can dive in the pool from the edge but in this pool I strangely feel afraid of diving, but I manage to gather my guts and jump. Now I am in the mood and want to dive again. After a couple of dives I notice that the ladies decide to get into the Pool fully. After the next Dive I see the ladies playing 'the who can hold their breath the longest' and are under water. Now this sounded really weird as the ladies did not wanted to get wet and now they are playing who can hold the breath the longest game. But I still manage to ignore and we keep playing in the pool.
Its nearing 7pm and we decide to come out of the pool as it is said by the Elders (Bade Buzurg) that you should be away from still water bodies or Jungle or any such areas which could have a presence of negative energy around Maghrib time (Sunset). We come out of the pool and while sitting around it my sister says that she is feeling cold and heavy. I try and convince her that it is because of the Cold water and being drenched in it. She is convinced and we all head towards our room.

Now the Story Begins
We try to reach the hotel named Raj Gardenia (which by the name of it sounds to be very beautiful, but actually isn't) through a series of Maze like regions which though populated by humans but are easy to get lost in for a new comer. Finally we manage to find the Hotel which on entrance itself gave us all the wrong signs of not going in there but we ignored. On the Entrance there was a big Scary face which I found to be common on most of these households or any properties located on the outskirts (the reason for which I still have not found). As soon as we enter the property there are these local dogs barking at us. My sister suggests that she did not like the property (My sister was possessed while she was in her SSC and through treatment she was cured and since then she has this weird sixth sense which enables her to realise the presence of negative energies), My daughter starts crying for no reasons at all which we ignored thinking that she has woken up from her sleep, My wife starts puking and we again ignore that thinking maybe it is because of the Acidity which she might have got due to Non-Veg consumption and travel stress (which we later realize that she was just puking water and if it was due to acidity some solid might have come out). We see the initial room and we donot like it because it being weirdly small. We call the tour operator and decide to change the property but to our luck (Bad Luck I would say). He upgrades us to Poolside Villas which was very much on the end of the property. The poolside rooms seem OK and we decide to stay. Now while going to the rooms it's a green plantations area with a lot of different trees especially the Coconut trees. There is an abandoned children pool which is dry and dirty (My wife later informed me that our daughter actually pointed out on that empty pool saying "there are some children playing").After such stressful travel and bearing the heat we ignore everything else and change to rush for getting into the pool to chill out. Now let me describe the Pool Area. It's at the end of the Property with a Jungle just next to it. She is convinced and we all head towards our room.
The Horror Starts
Ladies go to their room and Brother in law and me go to ours. Brother-in-law decides to have a bath first and me being dripping with water plan to sit outside the room on the Veranda (Balcony). While in the Ladies room My daughter is the 1st to go and have a bath. After the bath while my wife brings the daughter out with her back against the bathroom my daughter point behind my wife shouting that someones behind you and clings to her leg while crying loudly. My wife being hell scared tries consoling her saying may be it was a Lizard or something. She then gets her on bed to change the diaper and while my wife's getting the diaper on, my daughter shouts again "Mumma! There's someone on the Fan" and starts crying. Now my wife is really spooked but she still manages to gather her guts and console her. She then goes out to dry the Swimming clothes in the Veranda and she sees a Dark Shadow standing near the swimming pool area staring at her. She freaks and rushes to get in the room and bumps into my niece who comes out to soak her clothes too. Though being scared she decides not to say anything to anyone as of now or else the whole picnic will be ruined.
It's my sisters turn now, she has been experiencing weirdness since being out of the pool with chill running down her spine with an un-explainable fear, still she tries to keep her calm and goes on with the chores and not ruin the picnic. She comes out to the Veranda to soak her swimming clothes and while returning feels like bumping into someone but when she sees there is no one. She is terrified and goes silent, but the look on her face says it all. No one notices as everyone's busy in their own chores. I don't feel like going in the ladies room as there is a weird negativity which I feel whenever i try and go there. I have a bath and turn the TV on, watching a football match. Everyone's had bath and we decide for dinner.
The Table is Oval and is setup in such a way that one side of the longer end is facing the pool and the other is facing the Green Area, the elongated ends of which one is facing towards our Villas and the other on the opposite direction towards the Kids Pool Area. Brother in Law is seated on the elongated end towards the Villas with his back towards them. My wife and cousin opposite to each other then my Niece and Daughter followed by Me and Sister.
We all are awaiting at the table for the food to come. I notice that everyone's weirdly silent but still ignore citing that may be due to tiredness. Food Arrives and while we are hungry we don't feel like having it as we feel full without even having much and strangely the foods getting empty.
Suddenly my daughter shouts Phuppajaan (Uncle) pointing at something behind him and then gets silent again, though no one notices but I find it strange but as no one is interested I to choose to ignore it. After sometime she points to something behind my niece who is seated just opposite "Appi aapke peeche toh Itni badh Chipkali hai (There is a Huge Lizard behind you)" to which my niece gets really scared. That is when everyone starts opening up about their experiences. Wife shares her experience on how the daughter got scared and hows she saw the shadow, to which sister reveals that she has been feeling weird since coming out of the pool and she just bumped into someone but no one was there and then cousin also opens up that she has been having this weird feeling and getting goosebumps without any particular reason. Thus I also connect all the weirdness together on how I felt the water of the pool to be strangely cold and how I have been feeling this negativity in their room. Jiju calls the travel operator to change the hotel but according to him its not possible as it is too late and will try and do something for tomorrow thus we have to stay here for the night. We decide to exchange the rooms as our room did not have the negative vibes. All the other ladies come and check the room and all seems OK but as soon as my sister and daughter come in, this room starts feeling negative too. All being hell scared as we could feel negative presence we decide to vacate the Villas and take a standard room in the main hotel building expecting that this weirdness might leave us alone there. We speak to the Manager and he arranges 2 rooms in the main building. We pack and rush to the rooms. My Daughter starts removing these scary noises on the way for no apparent reasons which scares us more. I am accompanying my sister and daughter on the way following my wife, cousin and niece holding hands and reciting prayers (which me sister and daughter are not able to hear and they inform us when we reach the room) and inturn following Jiju.
We somehow manage to reach the rooms and settle down. Things seem better now as there's a glimpse of smile on faces of the women and daughter is no longer making the weird sounds. I breathe a sigh of relief (not knowing that this would be a brief one). My wife decides to unpack the swimming clothes which we had piled up inside a plastic bag during the earlier packing. She tries to soak them across the room and just in a few seconds this room too starts getting the negative vibes and my daughter starts demanding everyone to wash their hands and washes her own hands aggressively citing that they are so dirty. She restarts those scary noises and Sister's face starts turning pale again and I am reminded of the time of her possession during the 10th Standard and am hell scared. I tell brother in law to quit the property right away but he is not ready (to an extent he is right as its already around 12 am and finding an alternate place to stay at this time in Coorg would be almost impossible) but I warn him by reminding the earlier possession time and how dangerous it could get and force him that if need be we could spend the night in the bus but we have to leave right away. Jiju suggests that he and me will first go and search for a alternate hotel then take the ladies along but I suggest that as we have to leave the property anyhow and it is the ladies who are spooked the most then why not we leave altogether and never comeback. He agrees and we ask the ladies to pack the stuffs and we go out to look out for the Driver. We find him at the kitchen having his food and we inform him that we want to leave as soon as possible from the property as we are not liking it here and requested him to finish his food and come to the main building. He directly gets up, goes into the kitchen and comes out right away to leave with us. We find it a little strange but then as we pre-occupied with the thoughts of leaving asap, we ignored it thinking may be he is too co-operative.

Scary Realization
We are all Hungry and decide to have dinner outside our Villas, the helpers try and set up the table but they cannot as the ground is not too leveled which even they find strange as they had set up tables there before. Though they suggest we have food at the Poolside which my wife resists strongly but me and brother-in-law ignore and agree with the helpers to set it up there. The Table is Oval and is setup in such a way that one side of the longer end is facing the pool and the other is facing the Green Area, the elongated ends of which one is facing towards our Villas and the other on the opposite direction towards the Kids Pool Area. Nightmare coming to an End (Does it)
We pack our stuffs and the bellboys help us dump the stuff in the Boot-space of the bus. While we are leaving a dog starts crying out of nowhere which scares us even more. We manage to leave the place and could hear the Dog crying till we actually left the area. We reach a hotel on the highway which is full and he suggests us to go further down the Highway and we might find another place. By the time, as everyone is still feeling negative, the driver suggests that we wash our hands and face as that helps overcome negativity. I suggest that why don't we all do Wazoo (Ablution) as that is even better in overcoming the Negativity. We all do wazoo, even my little one. Now that everyone's feeling better we move ahead to search for a hotel. We notice a Dine and Stay place on the way which has Halal mentioned and suggest the Driver to stop at this place. We luckily get a big room which can accommodate us all together. We breathe a sigh of relief and settle down, being tired we all decide to sleep as we all had been through a tiring nightmare.
Sister sees a dream that a Huge Dark Man is trying to get on her and she wakes up being scared, she cannot sleep as this nightmare haunts her whenever she closes her eyes. So she decides to recite prayers and get over with the night. Wife sees a dream of a Good spirit suggesting her that they just dodged a bullet and it shows her that the Pool is full of blood and there is a huge leg floating which is cute at the Knees. This spirit asks her to discard all the Clothes which have touched the swimming pool water. In the morning when she wakes up, she is repeating the same thing "Throw away the swimming pool clothes". Now there are some favorite clothes in there and we all are hesitant, but she is so adamant that she has been suggested this for overcoming the negativity that we finally decide to budge in. We gather the swimming clothes in one big bag taking care not to remove them and throw it in the Trash. We offer prayers and go down at the restaurant for the breakfast.
Breakfast done and now we are ready to move out for sight seeing to change our moods. The Driver notices that we still have the fright in us suggests that there is a very well known Dargah (Mosque) around but it's a little far at around 30 Kms from the city. Jiju initially hesitates but then gives in looking at everyone's faces which are still a little down from last nights fright and above mentioned dreams. While on the way, out of curiosity I ask the driver that why did he leave his food and join us right away when we informed him about leaving ASAP. His reply was a little shocking but a little expected too. He said that it was because he already came to know that there was a negative presence in the Hotel, as the waiters were speaking about it to him and also sharing incidents that they always went around in groups as they were also scared to be around in the premises due to some spooky incidents which he decided not to share. He also informed that the guys in this new hotel also advised that they get regular guests in the middle of the night who have ran from Raj Gardenia due to such spooky incidents.

The Final Exit
The way to the Dargah seems to be quite a longer journey than expected but we still keep our patience and manage to reach the place. The Premises is beautifully peaceful with the main structure being a 100 stairs down with the main Peer Saahab being there and 2 structures halfway through on either sides. Being just a couple of minutes away from the premises my daughter starts crying and shouting "Mujhe Allah ke gharpe nahi jaana hai, Mujhe Garden Jaana hai (I do not want to go to the Dargah, but Garden instead)". Now that is really crazy because no one has informed her that we are going to a Dargah. I still forcefully take her in my Arms and take her towards the main structure. Her crying increases in intensity and she gets somewhat violent too trying to escape from me. I still manage to hold her tight and take her to the Main Mazaar (tomb). I start reciting prayers in her ears and blow air in them while reciting. She then calms down and I see peace in her eyes. We come out feeling better and by then the Driver had spoken to the Helper of the Dargah about the incident. He prays and then Gives Niyaz (Supplication) for us to eat. We eat the Niyaz and I am happy to see that initially being hesitant on having it but after having it she asks for more. We leave from the Dargah all feeling better and peaceful. While returning back everyone vomits, which is bad but in a sense good as after vomiting we all start feeling even better that may be whatever negativity was left in us has exited. Now strangely returning from Dargah was quicker than the time taken to reach there.
We reach Coorg Market hungry and hog like hungry hooligans.
By the time the Operator has set up a different Hotel for us which again is on the outskirts of the city and is very green with around 10 acres of plantation around it and guess what this ones completely empty too with no guests. Still he gives us the rooms at the End of the premises (May be to give us privacy) but the atmosphere here seems OK no such negativity that we felt at Raj Gardenia. So we decide to stay as this was our last night at Coorg and we wanted to get over with it ASAP! Also they did not have an intercom system too.
We try and joke on last nights incident trying to forget it and trying to divert our minds by playing UNO and other such games. My daughter needs milk every night so I went to order the milk towards the main premises. Now while walking through the pavement I feel that the air is blowing in the plantations around me only next to the area I am walking through. Though scared I try and ignore thinking may be it is in my mind due to last nights incident and reciting prayers I reach the main building. I order for the milk and return, while returning too I feel the same thing but again I ignore it and rush back to our room. We finish playing and now due to the hogging every ones feeling heavy stomach. We decide to order Soda and Jiju tells me to go and order it. Now to avoid saying that I got scare in my last outing I request him to do it this time. He agrees and leaves, when he is back he says that he felt it strange that wherever he was passing from the pavement, the air was blowing and the grasses were moving. And I also inform him about the same feeling and thus avoiding to go there the next time when he asked me. Being a little scared we ignore it and go to sleep.
The next morning, we wake up early as we had to leave for Ooty and finally get over with the Nightmare called Coorg. We pack our stuffs and leave from the Place never to return to it ever again. People say that Coorg is very beautiful and feels like heaven, I would rather say Ask me as I have seen hell there.
The Next Chaper
We reach Ooty which is a beautiful place with Cold weather and Fog welcoming us in the arm of Nature's beauty and stay in one of the better hotels in the place called lakeview. The Scenic nature is beautiful but people are a little weird as they stare crazily like they are scaring the soul out of you and the Weirdo Guys take every chance to take picture of Beautiful women when the see without even asking them for permission which I find to be offensive and indecent. My whole trip after that goes in protective mode towards the females of the family Scanning all around trying to protect them from such weirdos.
Kodaikanal is again very beautiful but similar weirdos can be found there too. So my advice to all who plan to travel the south is that Avoid Coorg and even if you really want to go there then take a very good hotel which is in the city and not on the outskirts and secondly try and protect your women from such Weirdos who are on the prowl for getting a click of your women and I don't know for what weird reasons.
This is its. I finish off here after writing for some time now and that too after quite long breaks in between. Hope you guys like it!!!
